Pleasanton, CA, March 12, 2020 – Cool Earth Solar, a Pleasanton-based Residential & Commercial solar installer, has received the SunPower “Regional Intelegant” award for an exceptionally well-designed and installed commercial solar project commissioned in 2019. The Intelegant award showcases when Intelligent engineering and elegant design collide. The 451 kW award-winning rooftop and carport system is producing clean energy for ATUM Biotech in Newark, CA.

During the initial analysis Rob Lamkin, CEO of Cool Earth Solar, realized that ATUM had high energy use, and very limited space. Using SunPower’s 470/Watt Commercial Panels, which are 22% efficient, they were able to maximize on ATUM’s roof and parking lot space, offsetting the facility’s entire energy consumption.

In addition to their SunPower solar system, the site also features LED lighting throughout, energy efficient elastomeric acrylic roofing, and a water recycling system. In addition, ATUM participates in a cost-neutral waste to energy program and composting program.
