Cool Earth Solar, developer and owner of high concentrator photovoltaic (CPV) power plants announced it has completed a merger with Radiant Energy. This new vertically integrated company now has a stronger platform from which to advance its break-through technology and quickly bring it to market. COOL EARTH is the new parent company with Radiant Energy remaining as the project development entity.
“We are very excited to gain the development experience of Radiant Energy. They have a deep understanding of the economics and process to develop a utility scale power plant”, said Eric Cummings, founder of Cool Earth Solar.
Rob Lamkin, CEO of Radiant Energy added “As part of developing power plants, Radiant Energy has had a good look at many renewable energy technologies including other concentrating photovoltaic and solar thermal based technologies. Cool Earth Solar stands out in its ability to dramatically lower the installed cost while enabling scaling to utility size applications. The technology is robust and disruptive to the status quo.”
In the merged company, Eric Cummings assumes the role of President and Chief Technology Officer. Rob Lamkin will serve as the CEO. Mr. Lamkin acknowledges that negotiations are on-going with several utilities to sell clean renewable solar energy from its utility scale power plants.
