CALIFORNIA CLEANTECH OPEN AWARDS COOL EARTH SOLAR

Innovator in concentrator photovoltaic technology awarded First Runner-Up in prestigious California CleanTech Open competition

LIVERMORE, Calif. September 27, 2006

The 2006 California CleanTech Open selected Cool Earth Solar as the First Runner-up for Renewable Energy in its statewide business plan competition for new companies involved in clean technologies.

Remarked Cool Earth Solar founder, Eric Cummings “We’re proud to participate in the competition. The California CleanTech Open is a great proving ground for innovation in clean technologies. It’s both an honor and a validation to be selected as the First Runner-Up”.

That Cool Earth Solar’s technology got strong reviews did not surprise Mr. Cummings. A PhD from Caltech, Mr. Cummings has worked in the Sandia National Labs and is an expert in the optics on which solar energy depends.

Cool Earth Solar’s participation in the California CleanTech Open marks the first formal presentation of the company and its break through technology.
