Principal Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an exceptionally experienced and talented electrical engineer to lead the conceptualization, development, and production of electrical systems for our novel solar power plants. Candidates should have deep experience creating electrical and electronic products or solutions and bringing them efficiently through the entire design process.

Principal engineer is our highest technical staff level. For this position, you must have the patience and vision to implement long-term plans and make sound design decisions, strategically and efficiently. Our principal engineers invent new ways of accomplishing tasks within cost and physical constraints when conventional methods fail, but do not discount conventional approaches when they work.

You must be able to conceive, rapidly validate, and iterate, and embrace hands-on building and testing. Experience with switching-mode power supply design, transformers, MCCs, high-voltage switchgear, relays, and breakers is desirable, as is mastery with microcontrollers. You should be equally comfortable coding in assembler, C (preferably C++), and Verilog. An ability to use simulation tools (e.g., PSPICE), analysis, experimentation, and prototyping efficiently to reduce design risks is required.
