We are seeking experienced mechanical designers with expertise in SolidWorks® and PDMWorks®. Our designers work closely with engineering teams to understand design needs and translate concepts and sketches into mechanical drawings for manufacturing.
As a mechanical designer at Cool Earth Solar, your responsibilities would include using computer-aided modeling techniques to develop drawings and generate system prototype designs. In addition, you would implement Design For Manufacture techniques to ensure manufacturing requirements and standards are considered for every prototype design. You would also develop and manage complete documentation packages for building prototype and production-level equipment. Our designers produce assembly renderings that are presented to customers and investors and interface with vendors and machine shops.
In addition to having 10 or more years of relevant industrial design and CAD experience, applicants should have expertise with system and assembly drawing and understand metal, sheet metal, and plastics manufacturing methods. Full project life-cycle experience is a plus. A mechanical design engineering degree is preferred, but we give the highest consideration to those with proven design capabilities. Finally, we want people who can multitask on a timely basis and who have a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
